Why does AUDIOSLAVE'S new CD suck?

These guys had so much potential and possess so much talent but I find their latest effort very boring and uninspiring. Only a select few tracks stand out and all of their songs sound the same.

Their first album was absolutely the best. The second album was very solid and was very good but not as good as the first. This third album is very boring except for like 5 tracks. Here is my breakdown....

1) The drummer is very boring. Almost every song has the same beat and no dynamics. Nothing special. Just the same beat throughout the whole album almost. Why not just have a drum machine.

2)Tom Morello's solos suck balls. In the middle of every song instead of doing actual playing, or showcasing his skills, he relies on effects to produce god awful over the top noise. It's annoying and repetitive.

3) Speaking of repetitive, chris cornell's voice is now annoying. Every song sounds the same. He can't explore different ranges or try different things with his voice or flow. Every song he sings I think "is this the same song as the last track?"

4) I just think that audioslave hit a creative wall. They need to start experementing on different songs or styles to add diversity to their sound. I loved the first two albums, but this new one is like throw away tracks from the last album.

5) Compare Audioslave to rage against the machine. No two songs sounded alike. It's like their was a different drummer. Musically, the band was tighter and more cutting edge. I' not one of those guys who hate audioslave and want rage to reform, but I do see a pattern that audioslave is getting worse with each release. Just my opinion.....

I know he has his supporters, but I find Tom Morello's "playing" over the top annoying.

I do like Audioslave better than rage. That Zak screamer they had was just a totally untalented wanna be tough guy tool.

i find tom morello to be playing the exact same song every freaking time he turns on his amp. it's like he has this switch that makes his sound go to overeffected suck.

other than tom being as original as a doorknob i don't mind audioslave.

Funny, I thought Rage was ridiculously repititive.

yep. Another reason I disliked them. I remember reading an article about Timmy C where he said they didn't know how to change chords in a song when they were in Rage. They were used to just playing one riff the entire song.

I like the new album, and it's my favorite of the three.

I thought the first album was strong, and had some good songs, but outside of "I am the Highway" I thought it sounded exactly like what it was - Chris Cornell singing over Rage tracks.

The second album was a bit of a disappointment for me though they were meshing a bit better as a group.

I do tire of Tom Morello's wacky solos. In fact, it's his solo for Original Fire which drags that track down. It sounds like laughing monkeys. Also, while I love his tone, Timmy is too far forward in the mix in that song and a few others.

I loved Rage Against the Machine, but I also found them repetitive at times. And Evil Empire only had two good songs IMO. Their debut was incredible though.
