Why does everyone use Fenders?

Thread resurrection. I don't own any Fenders and I don't play a Fender. Don't care for them. I think most play them because their idols played them (mainly due to lack of available options) or because they heard they were popular when they first got into Bass.

wait. so you dont own a fender AND you dont play a fender AND you dont care for them?! mind. blown. i think most people that play fenders play them because they like them. just like most people that play ibanez play them because they like them. just like most people that play warwick play warwicks because they like them....and so on.

I'm sure this is true for some, but many just like the sound and feel. I love the Fender P, but I also love anything else that takes on the form of a P. I have a G&L L5000 and an Ibanez Destroyer. It's all good to me, as long as it represents the P. I will admit though, I'm digging the Squier P5 I bought even more than my Fenders these days!

Well, I'm old. And somewhat of a traditionalist. But I've always loved the classic looks of Fender P's and J's. So it was just natural that I'd gravitate toward them when I started playing. Believe it or not, I also loved the sound. If you like the look and sound of a (insert brand name here), that's great too. Enjoy...

I used to own a fender American deluxe 4 string, then a MIA 5 string. There is certain expect of the fender I like tone wise. However, the MIA five string I got, the low B is too loose for me. When I play gig with it, it is not powerful enough.

I played some other fender basses from my friends and I really think the quality of Fender has dropped in recent year.... Just my humble opinion...

Yeah, that's it. Fender players are idiot lemmings who probably can't tie their own shoes. Unlike yourself, of course.

Here, got something for ya.....

So glad my opinion got you all worked up. Might want to grow thicker skin, because *Spoiler alert* we don't all like the same things.
I for one don't care what anyone thinks of the basses I play, but you, apparently a Fender Fanboy can't accept that. Always amuses me. No other group gets more bent out of shape for someone not worshipping said brand, than the Fender Bass Club. Go find your Fender support group and talk about how everyone who doesn't play a Fender is an idiot. It'll make you feel better I'm sure.
