Why does my headphones have a short 1/4 adaptor?

Hello. I just got a new audio technic headphone and it doesn't fit into my apollo 2 interface because the adaptor is too short. And the adaptor screws onto the plug and headphone. Any helpful ideas? Thanks.

They make these in plug-in and screw-in ends. I've got several of both kinds.

(The end where the headphone plugs in)

What do you mean, that it is "too short" to fit in the interface? Could you share a picture?
