Why does the forum time out so quickly?

I like to be on a few different sites at the same time, and this one times out so quickly so I have to keep signing in just to check out several pages/posts/threads, etc.

I'd like to see it take longer to time out.

no other forum I am on is anywhere near as quick to time out.

(I understand reasons why a forum will time out--I'm not asking that, just asking--why so quick?)

If you check the "remember me" box, you will no longer time out.
