why dosnt canada play cricket ?

I'd still say it's fairly true, it just isn't as big culturally big and isn't as widely viewed by the public. It doesn't mean there isn't outstanding players from the country, just that Joe Public isn't as interested so it has less media coverage.

That's true. It's the same with most other sports here. The general populace won't stand up and take notice unless it's a serious achievement. For an extreme example, I expect absolutely no one to know that the head coach of the Indian national ice hockey team used to be the Amateur Hockey Development Coordinator at the Islanders :p

Kinda like how a few years back Scotland won the world championships of Elephant Polo :hiding:

Just read that! Wasn't a fluke either: the team actually is really good.

*edit*

One test each. Game ON

Quite frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if the English team won this series. The Indians are caught between Ascylla and Charibdes now: they got slaughtered on a turning track and they'd be fearing worse in case they are faced with non-turning pitches in the two subsequent tests. Even so, had it not been for the semester exams, I'd most probably have gone to watch the next test that'll be played here :(
