I've been picking up a few bits of advice from talk bass from google searches for a while now and though I pop in and rear my head.

I picked up bass back in 7th grade after school jazz band and had an absolute blast. Joined into the actual jazz band for the next 2 year and had a grand old time. Then sports and marching band came in and i sort of fell out of touch with bass but still fiddled around with a cheapo $50 flea market off brand bass.

Now I'm all growed up and out of the nest and I decided to get myself a nice squire modified jazz bass. I've been fiddeling around with rocksmith but I found the song selection alright but not that great and the custom dlc can be good but is usually shoddy at best. So I decided to take the plunge into actually learning some theory and start learning songs "by ear". And I love it!

I hope to get a lot from this community and then give it right on back to the newbies when I'm a bit more experienced and wrinkled :P
