Why I Love My Alembic

When I started playing 40 years ago, there were Gibsons, Fenders and junk. Things have changed dramatically over that time so that many cheap basses look, feel and play just like the more expensive ones and certainly are the equal or better of what we had back then.

I have owned 2 Alembics, several Fenders, Several Gibsons, Warwicks and ESP's, a pretty narrow selection but one of my favourites is a MIM P bass I picked up in a pawn shop. It is 16 years old, absolutely mint unplayed condition, with a SD qtr Pndr pup and a BA 11 bridge. I set the neck and harmonics and it is wonderful. I pair it with a Warwick Thumb bass and the pair compliment each other and offer enough difference and sameness to work well. Both stay in tune.
