Why Ibanez Dosn't Sell Replacment Necks !

Truss rod froze up on an Ibanez bass I own !
I called up Ibanez to get a replacement neck !
They tell me they don't sell replacement necks !
I ask why?
They tell me if they sold replacement necks they may be counterfeited !

So that is why you cant buy a replacement neck for an Ibanez!

Funny how a company that got started by counterfeiting doesn't want to be counterfeited !!!!!!

Ibanez continually refine and redesign their models on an annual basis. Their basses are not built from a foundation of generic parts using one or two wood types, like others. Ibanez changes where others seek to stay the same. Managing a stock inventory of parts for a builder like that would be a bloody nightmare when you consider just how many variants of each model they have which all get regularly updated.

And, yes, they have always put their own name on their instruments :)

Not quite. Ibanez "lawsuit" copies were what put Ibanez on the map. Like other Japanese guitar makers at the time, Ibanez were just another obscure maker of inexpensive guitars.

In the early 70's Ibanez did indeed counterfeit Gibson guitars. And no, they didn't "always put their own name on their instruments". Nor did they always put serial numbers on them. Some of us were around to witness all this actually happening.

Here's an accurate illustration of their mischief from back in the day. Note the Les Paul ripoff on the left, which bears no Ibanez logo.
