why is ashdown so cheap?

Can anyone give me some reviews of the ASHDOWN MAG300H EVO II

AND also, which Cab is better/ what is the difference between the ASHDOWN MAG 414T DEEP and the ASHDOWN MAG410T

they look exactly the same and are priced the same... what is the difference in sound between them?

The difference in cabs is the impedance, 414 is 4 ohm, 410 is 8 ohm. The Mag300 head can handle 4 ohm minimum, therefore if you take the 414 you can not add another cabinet later.

If you take the 410 you could add another 8 ohm cabinet later, but until you do, your setup will be a little less loud, because amps put out less power into higher impedance cabinets.

In my personal opinion, one 4x10" is enough and I would take the 4 ohm version.

Both the head and cab are good for the price IF you like the sound. Ashdown is a rock amp and a bit dirty, don't hope to get a very clean and modern sound out of it. If you are a rock guy, then at this price range there is no match for Ashdown.

And their valve stuff is really expensive! (over £500 gbp for 30w of valve bass amp which for many would be classed as an expensive home practice amp on bass. They were about £300 but the prices went up around new years. They sound amazing to me though and if i could make itloud enough for my band then id definitely want to give it a go.
