Why it so hard for me to learn a song?

I have been playing a year too....I only have like an hour a night to play becuase I work so much....I have learned probably 50-60 songs through. the best way is get to know a song know how it goes all the way through. look at the tab while listening to the song...learn the riffs in the song...usually theres only a couple riffs in each song....and watch people cover it on youtube and watch how they play it.....after a while you can even pick out what they are doing wrong! then practice that song everyday.
my first song I learned was tom sawyer by rush....because thats what inspired me to start playing bass....second was sultans of swing....there are a ton of people who play that on youtube and you can watch them play it and play along with the tabs.

oh and another thing thats great is bass isolated tracks on youtube....those helped me a bunch in some songs too like ramble on....listen how jpj plays it then try and match the sound he makes! then you can see the things wrong in the tabs!

that helps when you get stuck on a part in a song

there are some songs like I looked at the lemon song and was like how am I going to remember all this...I am still wondering if I want to tackle it!

take a saturday when you have nothing to do and tackle a song!
