Why kids should learn music

There are all kinds of articles and research proving that kids who play music starting young are better off in school and the like.

Really, no downsides IMO. I wish I'd kept up playing piano (started and gave up at like age 10 or so). I'll be signing my kids up for some sort of music lessons, for sure. That is, when I have kids like 7 years from now..

Our son started drums lessons last year, but this month he switched to piano. He's really enjoying it, but like all kids, he doesn't like practicing. :D

Same with my kid, he was taking drums lessons and loved to go to classes but did not like to practice, I put him on Karate lessons and he love it, has been consistent for almost one year, he will take the test for orange belt next week, last Saturday was my birthday and I spent the whole day with my son watching Bruce Lee movies :D

My daughter is 17 months old and I plan on starting her on music lessons as soon as it makes sense. I am hoping to make practice fun for her by practicing with her. Like if she plays piano I might play some bass along with her.
