Why so many forced dichotomies?

Do you like forced dichotomies?

When did we become so simpleminded?
i take your point, but: not everyone has become "so simpleminded." i argue here (regularly) against false dichotomies, binarism, either/or reductionism, etc. and so do others.

more evolved brains do not require black/white rules. less evolved thinking depends on it. but the impulse is baked in. so seeing colors (the 'gray area' in between black and white) is a learned skill. evolutionary psychology purports a slow breaking down of thought processes reflecting the bicameral state, and though our central nervous systems are rapidly evolving from that state: it takes time! conscientious consciousness is up to the individual, so obviously not everyone will get there with a version which can do them any good.

try harder to break away from binarism = it's a gas, very liberating/potentiating, and less restrictive than the 'mud'. (helps with the music, too!)

good luck, all.
