Why you need straplocks!

haha i do that all the time with my jazz bass.
i use a dimarzio cliplock strap and i've never had a single problem.

honestly its not a "dumb" thing because when you're playing in front of 100-200 sweaty teenagers, its a pretty good looking move if you do it right.

but that guy, man, i feel bad for him. i windmilled once and the headstock of my bass just SLAMMED into one of the house speakers and i was expecting to have the neck and the head in different hands, but it didn't even go out of tune.

its a risk and you always double check your straplocks before you do it. i don't even feel safe with straplocks anymore, thats how much i love my dimarzio strap.


i feel really bad for that guy though. haha.
 
yeah i've had schaller strap locks fail when they got loose and rotated around. i hate those things. they give a false sense of security.

for regular playing they aren't really needed in my opinion, especially with a regular fender style instrument. if you are going to be involved in any kind of "wacky antics" then it's time for a dimarzio strap or some duct tape.
