Wich bass to buy.

Hello everyone, in first place i'm sorry if my english is not correct. I'm a bass player about 2 years, and i have been playing an old bass wich i have "inherited" from my brother. Now i want to buy a new bass for me.

I really like Muse and the Fender American Jazz Bass that Chris Wolstenholme uses, unfortunately i don't have enought money to make a "big buy" ( a Fender bass may costs more than 1000 euros/dollars). So, i want to purchase a Squier bass, i've heard Squier is the "economic" Fender, and have basses of great quality. I want you to advise me, wich Squier jazz bass do i have to purchase knowing i like the style of Muse and the Fender American Jazz Bass? (i don't mean the look or appearance, i mean the type of sound)

Thanks for your time, for a rookie like me it's very dificult to choose one type of bass of the big variety of the market.

Do you know any local players? Might be time to try and find some. I say this because they will know what local basses are good. Squiers are nice, but there are bound to be some local basses that will be cheaper and just as good. If you get Cort around your area, have a look at them. Very good value.

I wouldn't buy something just because Chris plays it, dude has a different bass for each song it seems like!

I much prefer his sound when using his Pedulla and Status basses.

I agree with mmbongo.
Also i dont have experience with their basses but squire guitars are junk. I had one awhile ago and it basically just broke down on me. If you really want a jazz bass go with the fender standard not the American one. They run around 600 and even though they aren't the highest quality, they're gonna be better than the squire. Just remember you get what you pay for.

ok i own 2 squiers and they are amazing. In my experience from playing over the years my squiers are kick ass and worthy for playing. Try the VM squier jaguar bass. it is a p/j combo with an amazing tone and quality. it is very versatile adn currently my favorite bass to play . Btw i love muse to death so i use this bass for the songs and it ddoes a good job all you have to do is adjust the knobs accordingly :3
