Wild and Crazy fuzz-type thing needed

Well that is a wonderful sound. Of course it lacks versatility, but damn that sounds huge.

I'm currently leaning toward the Funky Puppy, as it seems to have the widest utility (fuzz, filter) in addition to getting crazy.
Although, the Prunes and Custard sounds kinda awesome too.

hmm.

That one is the cheapest of the very few I can find online.

I saw that one! Unfortunately it's $60 shipping from New Zealand or I probably would have snapped it up.

Since The Really Good Pedal Company is having a sale and offered an additional 10% off for the first purchase, I ordered the Funky Puppy.

I know it might be a bit tamer than some of the other options, but the Prunes and Custard is now on my list to buy at some point.

I bought both, and I'm keeping the Funky Puppy and selling the P&C (there's one in the classifieds, totally affiliated).

The Funky Puppy is just too cool for school, especially for a filter junky like myself. I liked the P&C quite a bit, but, you know, GAS ...

I appreciate you looking at the list! I will say, based on the information I have gotten from the builders and other players, the Grit Spitter and the ADHD are definitely great options for what you want. If you can find an old Dwarfcraft Devices She-Fuzz, this is also something you might want to try out.

Game Changer Audio Plasma Coil!

It has the Plasma Pedal xenon tube but also has a bunch of octave and drive options that can be triggered before plasma in latch or momentary. I’ve used it on the I’d Rather Be With You solo to great results. Sounds awesome into a filter like the Chunk Systems Octavius (which Bootsy has). That combo is soooo much more synth funk than any FFT tracker pedal like FI or C4. It’s plasma behavior gives it an unpredictability in tone, sorta of a you just ripped spacetime open vibe, but the gain control allows you to set the gate effect of the plasma engaging, it is easy to get it to behave like a predictable but bluntly quick VCA attack for maximum funk impact.

Octavius Squeezer is also great at this alone, I bet the Funky Puppy is great since it has the same Chunk Systems fuzz and filter as the Octavius.

Add a bit of chorus if you want to simulate bootsy multi chain vibe.

All IMO and IME.

I bet you'll love it. I have a Chunk Agent 00 Funk and Brown Dog clones made by someone else and they are a powerful funky combo!
