Wildwood Guitars Music Store

I bought a bass from them today - Wildwood Guitars. I never heard of them before, yet I think they know their instruments. What I mean, they seem to carry not only newer but vintage as well. Their customer services is really nice. Very friendly. Asked what strings I wanted and gauges. What type of setup before shipping. Sent pictures of the particular instrument and each part. Not just the Companies instrument picture where one instrument represents all. . ... Does anyone come from St Louisville Colorado and know of them? I was very impressed with the sale. I would highly recommend them.

That store is just 10 mins from where I grew up, that place is wonderful, when you walk in the walls are covered with vintage guitars, you could spend an infinite amount of money in that place. They do have a nice selection of basses but mostly it is a guitar store, they also have a good selection of vintage guitar amps. Really cool place with really cool people, I bought a Ric there a few years ago.

I've bought nearly a dozen guitars & basses from them over the years.
They have the best pricing of any store I know of for Rickenbacker basses, they have dozens of Gibson Custom Shop guitars in stock, and even a few Fender Custom Shop basses.
I actually got to play blue pearloid-covered Masterbuilt Fender Precision Bass from last year's NAMM Show a few weeks ago when I was there to pick up my new purple sparkle Fender Adam Clayton Precision Bass.
The showroom is fairly small, but their warehouse is huge.
Great people there, and the owner is the best. He is in the process of selling the store to his employees - how cool is that?
Highly Recommended.

BTW, what did you buy?
Was it the Fender Elite Jazz Bass in natural?

That was awesome, dude. It is actually just Louisville, a beautiful little town along the northern Front Range of the Colorado Rockies. But perhaps they should consider the "Saint" denotation?

I live down the street in Denver. It is all it appears to the long-distance observer, and more. The owner and all his employees are guitar nuts, they know their instruments like the backs of their hands, and they specialize in high-quality products (not necessarily the most expensive, but historically the most popular and enduring).

Wildwood routinely wins retailer awards from Gibson, Fender, and Rickenbacker. They inspect all stock (i.e. open the boxes and take a close look) and won't let a flawed instrument leave the store. Inspection and basic set up (by a great staff tech) is standard policy. The lemons go back to the factory, not to a customer who then has to fight with warranty claims and such.

I visit often, and even though I look for guitars everywhere, I have walked out of the store with guitar or bass in hand several times. At least once, I went through three versions of a guitar at one of the big box stores, all seriously flawed and returned, and than found a perfect specimen hanging on the wall at Wildwood.

If you're looking for those three brands, Wildwood really should be a must-call before you buy, no matter where you are. They love to talk to people who are serious about it.

I wanted one of the new Special Edition 70's Jazz Bass. I wanted this series eventhough made in Mexico ( although the one's I have played were made and sounded very good) , I wanted something in a 74 specs. Also something light as all the others I found were not as light as I wanted. Lightest I have seen before this bass was 8.10 which is cool but this is well below that. Most were high 9's and 10's. New bass and excited as most everyone does when a new bass comes along.

The new Mexican 70's J-Basses are great instruments.
I have an AVRI 75' Jazz Bass, and I think the new MIMs sound and play every bit as good.

Congrats, and Enjoy!

Bought my RIC from Wildwood in 2015. I will never shop anywhere else for one. Best price, best service and best set up. I even had a treble bezel sent to them and they installed it for me before sending it to me. Threw me a free t shirt too. Will gladly give them my business and sing their praises, those dudes kick ass

When buying a bass I will check with them first. Seems a lot of Ric players favor Wildwood. I notice they emphasize guitars but they do have many basses that look high quality. Only a few places tell you the weight of the instrument. Wildwood does which is an added bonus and say's that they want a happy customer. I mean to tell me how I want it set up and the strings and height, is amazing. The communication is great also. I would suggest everybody to check out their site and ask questions. Maybe if they don't have it they can get it. It will come already set up with your string favorites and ready to gig that day.

MJM Its called Limited edition Jazz 70's............. It came an I still think highly of Wildwood, The Bass isn't what I expected. Sent it back. over 140 dollars. ouch.... Pulled the jack out and the tone control plate almost came with it. Felt and sound wasn't a 70's as I remember it. Interesting this bass isn't in the Fender site.
