Will an M-Audio Fast Track audio interface work fine with the Ampeg SVX software?

Hi everyone

I've been interested in purchasing the ampeg plug in software for some time now, but I'm not sure if it is compatible with my audio interface, the maudio fast track (http://medias.audiofanzine.com/images/normal/m-audio-fast-track-611274.jpg)

What do you guys think? Should it work or should I think about buying a new audio interface?

Oh and also, would I be able to record into my protools software while plugging my bass into the ampeg software, if you know what I mean?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers :)

Provided SVX is compatible with your version of Pro Tools it will be fine for plugin use.

For standalone use (if it works like that) then as long as SVX is compatible with your OS and the interface is compatible with your OS (which it sounds like it is since you've been using it) then you should be fine.

It's been a few years since I tried SVX but I really didn't rate it, sounded "bad" and didn't sound like a miked up Ampeg to me. It did seem to be fairly popular though, make sure you demo it before buying. Perhaps you're only interested in software sims but a VT Bass does a much better job of simulating an Ampeg imo.

Ampeg SVX works with just about any interface. I can even use my laptop sound card with ASIO4ALL.

Ampeg SVX is the only certified models of Ampeg amps. If you're not finding the sound like you expect then you're probably doing something wrong. It has a "Low Definition" mode and a "High Definition" mode. For some reason Low Definition is the default. Be sure to adjust it up.

Thanks for the replies guys, got it ordered :)

How would I go about changing it to high definition mode? Thanks again
