Will my head blow my Cab speakers?

Hey everyone. I have a question regarding wattage. I recently have upgraded from my past of using only combo amps and purchased a 4x10 cab and solid state head.

The solid state head I bought is the new Line6 LowDown 750 head and I love it. I wanted to get the maximum amount of power for only using one cab so I bought a 4 ohm impedance Ashdown 4x10 which is rated at 600 watts handling. There is little info. on the topic i could find so i asked a couple people and they said it would be okay but after I read a few things on here I began to wonder...

So, my question is; will my 750 watt head (that's it's max at 4 ohms) potentially destroy the speakers in my 600w 4x10 4 ohm cab?

If you crank it up to 11? Yeah, it might.

I really wouldn't worry too much, who runs their head wide open all the time?

HOWEVER

If you push a cab to it's limit, I'll bet you'll find you're not happy with the sound. I prefer to operate cabs with higher headroom than my amps - I've found that speakers pushed to their limits A) don't sound so good and B) don't last so long.

Just keep that in mind.

I do the opposite. Lots of power available at the amp. Some of my speakers have 400 + power ratings. I use 2 or 3 when playing outside with minimal pa support.

I use the same head(s)/amp inside, with 1 or 2 150 watt rated speakers--- I just don't push it.

My Fender preamp sounds nice when overdriven for a bit of crunch.

ANY amp can blow ANY spkr cab, at ANY time. Judicious use of the low eq, gain and volume is part of knowing "how" to work a bass rig. Also, just for future reference, "getting all the wattage" out of an amp is usually not the way to go. The 8 ohm version of your cab will take as much juice as the amp will push at 8 ohms, the same as the 4 ohm one. Only difference is, with an 8 ohm cab, you can add another. Volume has more to do with speakers than wattage, so a 410 is your limitation, either way.

Your cab will be fine as long as you don't crank that thing passed 2 o clock. I personally would run a 8ohm cab for more headroom and have ability to upgrade with another cab. Are you able to return cab for a replacement to 8ohm one? (being endorsed with Line6 I run 2-500 watt 8Ohm cabs and 2-750 heads)

This. Genz-Benz's Shuttle 6.0-12T combo has 375 watts fed into a 300 watt speaker and it's probably one of the most loved combos out there. Just don't crank it and you'll be fine.
