will this head work with this cabinet?

I bought this cabinet: Ampeg B115E 1X15

and I need a head for it, but I dont really understand any of the ohms and peak wattage and what kind of head I need to get. Can anyone help me? I was looking at this head Ampeg PF-350 Portaflex 350W Bass Amp Head: Shop Bass & Other Musical Instruments | Musician's Friend would it work? if not could you sugest another head for me?

It will work; you'll need to add another cabinet, at some point, to get the full 350 watts (if you need 'em), that would be true with any 8 ohm cabinet.

but the cabinet is 400 peak watts, So wouldent i be able to get all 350? sorry but I dont understand this very well

It delivers 350 watts to a 4 ohm load. That is an 8 ohm cabinet, but the 8 ohm cabinet allows you to add another 8 ohm cabinet, so it's preferable (to me anyway). A 4 ohm cabinet would not allow for adding another cabinet with that head.

I played that head with that cab last week at the music store. It was amazing! I liked it much more with th b115e than i did with the pf cabs. Also if you buy from GC and it doesnt do it for you they are easy to do returns with!

As said the b115e is a 8 ohm cab. So it will not pull the complete 350 from the head. That 350 rating is for a 4 ohm load. So to get the full 350 you need one 4 ohm cab or two 8 ohm cabs. There is tons of info in the stickys on this if you have more ?s.

What you need to understand is that watts mean almost nothing. Most amps can be used with most cabs. If in doubt go to a music store, play through what you think you want. And also what you haven't considered, you never know.
