Will this setup work?

This is a fun callback. I had one of these powering a couple of crate cabs (a 118 8 ohm and a 210/115 8 ohm w/crossover) Doing Death metal back then, 5 of the 12 stops had no PA, so it got worked out hard. It may not have the fattest roundest tone, but it can get reasonably loud for it's price range.

Will it work? Yes

The BX4500 puts out 300 watts @ 8 ohms, which is about right for that 410. When you expand, if you add a second of the same 410 it would run 225 watts to each, that would be very near the peak efficacy you can get from those speakers.


That being said, it may be wiser to look at a used cabinet to make your money go further. That rig will work, but if you are serious about playing, you will be looking for something beefier inside the year.
 
You only have to match ohm ratings on tube amps. Solid state will do anything ABOVE the minimum impedance rating, but the output power will be lower. The important thing is to never go BELOW the minimum rating: the power transistors will overheat and blow.

A quick and dirty way to estimate power is to halve watts with a doubling of impedance... 300w @ 4 ohms ~ 150w @ 8 ohms. This isn't universal, but it will put you in the ballpark.

On a tube amp, you'll get the same output power in watts no matter what impedance you're running, as long as it's plugged into the right jack!
 
General rule of thumb is:

the amps min impedance is something you do not want to ignore! Most amps are min 4ohms (its' on the back of the amp). A 4 ohm min amp + an 8 ohm cab + 8ohm cab = 4 ohms load = happiness.
