Willie Weeks was the bassist for the band Rufus (aka Ask Rufus) for a 6 month period over 1970-1.

In that that time the band had 3 lead singers and were able to get a recording contract at Epic, record an entire album at Wally Heider Studios, and release 2 flop singles.

Here's an isolated bass track taken from a 50 year old - 16 track tape.

Here's the Willie Weeks bass part to the flip side Rufus' "Brand New Day" which was written by Al Kooper.

The song managed to squeek into the Record World chart as high as #137 in Feb. 1971.

"Room At The Top" was originally an American Breed single in 1969.
