Winter 2017 Bass Build off - Voting Final

Back on December 23rd, 2016, a build off challenge was issued here in Luthiers Corner.

The theme was “Challenge Yourself”.

The entrants were asked to build a bass in a way they haven't done in the past. Some of the possible challenges they could give themselves would be as follows:

1) Create a new design / Build a design you haven’t built in the past
2) Use different materials
3) Use different building practices.

My votes are cast, if I could only pick one bass I would have to go with @JIO 's build. I think it was his best work out of alot of great basses.

Rojos build No2. Shows the power of a heap of talent and the fantastic information and support from the people here on LC can create a great work of art.

I lurk here a lot, and you guys are a constant inspiration, so it's great to see a build that acknowledges that fact.

Arrrrgggghhhhh! That was a struggle to narrow down, I've joined two other Luthier's forums (MIMF and OLF), and neither can compare for the sheer range of projects and creativity displayed here on TB IMO. Forced to narrow it down to three, I had to vote as follows:
Sheer Technical Virtuosity in a notoriously difficult material: MPU Carbon Headless
Massive Improvement of Skills: Rojo Build #2
Conspicuous Badassery: Mapleglo Devil Bass

I can't assign any order to these, all unique builds in their own right, I also really liked Scoops Flamed Claro build. Can I cheat and vote a 4th bass?

oooo lots of good stuff this year. Personally, I think I liked Jisch's "Stubby" the most. It's one of the most unique instruments I've ever seen on this site, has awesome woods, and even sounds cool to boot.
