That is by far the nicest thing I have ever seen made from scraps. Such a great combination of interesting woods skillfully assembled. Being a semi-hollow makes it even cooler!

Coincidentally, I just received my first piece of bocote recently so this reminded me how cool it looks as a fretboard.

EDIT: Actually, maybe the second nicest thing, after the bass :bassist:

Thanks!

I really like bocote for a fretboard; the right hardness, interesting grain but not a bright color that will fade to brown in couple years.

I think I have enough left for 6 more boards so I will be using it again!

Wow, that's really excellent.

I like the scraps idea as I have tons of them in various local hardwoods, but I think they look a little cheap, or even kit build if they come through to the front, so having a top is great. I also like the asymmetry of the wood pieces in the back even though when first mentioned I thought it might look odd.

The T nuts for the neck bolts are a good idea too; I've used literally thousands of those when building speakers.

Thank you!

I also like how the asymmetry looks, though I was also unsure at the start. Also, BTW, the top is 20 year old scrap as well as most of the back!

I should have done a better write-up on this project, but I got pressed for time...
