Wireless Systems

I've been seeing reports about the Line 6 rendering WiFi useless. As an more mixpersons take up mix via iPad, this is going to be a real problem.
It does kill my home WiFi users' ability to connect, I've not tried using it for "fun" at say a Starbucks or other such establishment with "free" WiFi. I'll have to remember to pack it next time I visit a populated area....

IMO, relying on a wireless connection for mixing is not a good idea at all.

The new ULXD system seems good.

So, you're suggesting that the musicians should ditch a wireless system that's working great for them, and buy another because "mixpersons" are having iPad/WiFi issues??? - yeah, probably not happening...

When you play a venue where your mixperson has to put FOH where he can't hear the system, you'll wish you had a different wireless - or a nice long cable.

Probably not - although I see you putting the soundperson ahead of the musician, as usual... Here's a hint: people actually pay to see the musicians, and not the soundperson - if I can't use my wireless, I'm not going on... If enough musicians take the same stance, the soundperson will have to come up with a different solution, as well they should... After all, Line6 wireless units have been around for awhile now, and are widely used - mixing with an iPad is a fairly new development... Also, the soundperson is *supposed* to make things easier for the musician - not the other way around...

Let's put it this way - what are YOU going to do when an artist lists their stage gear, and Line6 wireless units are on their rider???
