Wishbass pricing confusion

So...if Wishbasses are around "$100 a string" give or take a couple hundred bucks, why is it that on places like Ebay, they're being sold for around $400 OR LESS in Buy it Now? I don't get it. Would a $215 wishbass off Ebay be like, "worse" than a new one? Aestetics aside of course. I'm just curious how these are selling this low, if theyre bought so high.

$100 a string is the usual pricing for a custom order from Steve W. He'll list 'stock' basses on eBay for $300 these days for a 'basic' 4 string and $400 for anything, 4 or 5, with non-basic wood, features, a 'nice one', etc.

$215 second hand for a bass bought between $300 to $400 is about right if you look at the depreciation of other bass out there. Only thing that would alter this is the degree of refinishing that has been done to the bass. Some refinished Wishbasses have sold for quite a bit more than $400.

Ahhh ok thank you. I wasn't sure if he made stock basses I guess, and I was wondering how a custom order could go down that much, and i was afraid there might be some huge issue with it I've been overlooking. Thanks!
