With or without pickguard?

I just bought a 55-01 with a nice burst finish. Was thinking about putting a clear Jeannie's pickguard on it, since I play slap and put wear marks under the G-string between the neck pup and the end of the neck.

Get some Cleartastic and apply a small piece to the affected area. Cleartastic is the same stuff they put on the leading edge of the hood of higher end cars to protect the paint. It is a few mils thick and protects the paint while being completely transparent. If you end up scratching up the Cleartastic, just peel it off and replace it. I've never used it on a bass, but it seems like it would be a good match for what you're looking for

No Pickguard, but that cleartastic it's a good idea. It's the same stuff the put on gadgets it's called invisibleshield I have it on my iphone it's pretty cool. They have kiosks at the malls, I'm pretty sure they can sell you a piece.

Hmn. I just watched their installation video, and ya gotta wet the plastic film and the surface to which it's applied.

Not gonna do that on a bass...
