Double Bass Wittner MT-50 vs QM2 Metronome

This a bit nerdy, but bear with me. The little digital metronome that I travel with is on its way out. I want to replace it with a simple quarts metronome with a great click. The Wittner MT-50 seems fine, the price is right and it's really simple. But I want to know why their QM2 model is around $60, while the MT-50 is only $20. Is it just a matter of one being made in Germany and the other elsewhere? If the QM2 is going to last forever while the MT-50 will bite the dust after a few years, I'd consider it. If it's just a country of origin difference, I'll probably choose save the $40.

Does anyone have experience with both?
