Wizard Pickups [UK]

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by JamesXP, Mar 23, 2013.

  1. Has anyone tried out the Wizard pickups?

more specifically the Sixty Fours for a J bass..

if so what's your views on those as I think they're what I'm looking for..

I play mostly classic rock in a covers band covering 70s classic rock

    thanks alot!

  2. Anybody?

  3. The Wizard 64s set is by far the best single coil Jazz Bass set that i've tried.
Really really good pickups. Better than all Dimarzio, Fender CS60, Duncan SJB1s and Antiquity II IMO...
They are on my 62 JB and i never change them.
Fat and growly sound, good midrange, highs at best. Perfect.

  4. For UK based custom PUs the choices also include:

    - bareknuckle pickups
    - the creamery pickups
    - fatboy pickups

Wizard seem to be cheap and there are no sound files, which is why I hadn't included them in my shortlist. However, you have a recommendation above, which goes a long way.

  5. They "seems" to be cheap, I agree, 'cause the pîctures on the website "seems" cheap.
    But,
my 64s set arrived in a small box with red paper, well packaged, and the pickups are all but not cheap. They feels and looks like $200 pickups, you can trust me.
Compared to my 64s, the Fender CS60 and Duncan Antiquity ARE cheap.
