And the quality is awesome. From what I heard from an interview of the owner of all this history is that the original ampex tapes were buried under mountains of memoribilia and hadn't been played in years. They were in prestine condition and the audio hadn't degraded. They sound incredible.

I'm listening the Hendrix at Winterland too. DAMN!! I have never heard sound quality like this from this era save maybe studio albums. I may have found a new homepage!

Helluva bass solo on "Tax Free"

I just took a webtrip that blew my mind with information. From your link to Wolfgang, I went to posters and found a 1967 Santana poster with Junior Wells on the bill for under $100 - marked that. Then I googled Junior Wells and followed the link to the Wikipedia site for his bio - solid but sparse info there. In the corner of the Wikipedia page at the corner of the background information box is a little arrow. Clicked that and got this page - a recollection of Junior Wells by Bob Koester that is as detailed a recounting as I've ever read.

The tremendous sound quality of these shows is something else. Its really hard to believe some of these recordings are almost 40 years old.
