The song is from the Aretha Now album, which featured both of them, but Jemmott gets the bass credit for that particular track. However, Cogbill gets a listing as the guitarist on it.

This is a live performance from the BBC, the Cliff Richards Show, late 60's. I can find no list of performance musicians, but I doubt if they are anything but British studio guys. Also, definitely sounds like a pick player.
This. It is not the track from the album, and the bass line is quite different than Jemmott's line on the album, which is played fingerstyle. The live track is obviously played with a pick, as many have pointed out. It's busier, but still great. I'm'a vote for some London session guy, or maybe Aretha's road bassist, if she had one along on that appearance.
Yeah, my thoughts also. I watch a lot of British classic comedy shows from this era, and it sounds to me like the same orchestra that did all the TV shows back then, especially the upfront, picked bass. Listen to the opening theme to "Are You Being Served?" show ( YouTube). Sounds pretty similar to me.
It's a great version and the bass playing is awesome. I tried to find out about this and found that the orchestra on the Cliff Richard show was led by Norrie Paramour and the consensus on another thread here is that it's Dave Richmond on the Burns Bison with a pick. He also played the "Are you being served" theme.
being in UK in 1970 I am taking a wild guess and saying it sorta sounds like Dave Richmond's sound and style.

The date on the YouTube video is incorrect. The show was broadcast 31st August 1970. There's some other footage from this time of Cliff with Norrie Paramor and the bass player is Dave Richmond.

@Gary Crockett has already posted a link to the forum dedicated to @Dave Richmond but two months ago a video of much better quality was published on the channel of Cliff Richards.
It's the same show as the video with Aretha Franklin and It clearly proves his presence in the orchestra that night :

Thanks to @Gary Crockett who provided me with the file I uploaded on my youtube channel a better quality version of the song by Aretha Franklin than the one from the first post :
You can see that the background is the same in both videos.
