Wood & Tronics Club

I'm not worried, just excited. Enrico hit a home run with my last bass. This one will be a chronos, but he modified the body shape slightly in order to facilitate/enhance the hollow body. Ive seen a drawing of the shape and soundhole, looks killer! :-)

Anybody see the insane deal going on LAG's website? He's blowing out a W&T Chronos for a price that I can't believe. Someone better hop on this quick! Its specd out almost exactly like my 6, which is a total beast

Hey guys I just wanted to add my new purchase to this thread - I got it second hand via Pierre Ganseman who funnily enough posted earlier in this thread! I am one seriously happy guy - these basses are incredible. Loving it! It's a Chronos 5, 32 inch, currently with .95 La Bella strings on it...here's a recording I did a little bit earlier using it...what a tone! Seriously great instrument.

welcome, and congrats, and great playing! What are the electronics in yours?

............................damn.

Oh yes, Andy.. thats right :)

PS, thank you a million for the Tecamp advice. I will try to keep it relevant to the W&T thread by saying that my Chronos has NEVER sounded better than it does through the puma500.

Dunno if you've experienced this, but in my testing I noticed that all my basses (chronos, BN5, AC6) sound markedly better with the onboard preamp bypassed into the puma. Not sure what that says about the basses or the amp, but as good as it sounds with an active bass, with the onboard bypassed, I instantly get this incredibly rich and clear AJ type tone. Its kinda ridiculous actually..

Makes me really want to plug an old P bass into the rig..... :)

I always run passive because my Nordstrand preamp eats batteries quickly, and I run the amp flat (the slightest low boost when I use one 112 cab to fill it out). You found an older Puma 500 right? Such an amazing amp. I'm glad you like it so much. I had a feeling since we both seem to be looking for a similar sound.

Yeah, I ab'd an older 500 and a newer 900. Although the 900 was no slouch by a long shot, the 500 has some serious magic to it, and is right up my tone alley. I would have been happy to keep the 900....till I heard the 500. :-)

Thanks Pete! Damians hollowbody is looking pretty sick too! Would love to get these two together sometime to compare. Does your shop still smell like fish from the obiche? ;)
