thanks for the info, definitely makes me want to check out a puma now! I like my markbass head, but am looking for a head of roughly the same size and weight that offers a bit more fidelity and depth to showcase my chronos' complexity.

Sorry to hear about the dolfs, have you contacted Enrico to let him know?

did you see the new puma's, they are much smaller now, just 1 RU and there's even a 900 watt version. I think i will check this one out, they are in the stores now in germany.

yes, Enrico knows about the noise issue, it looks like Dolf has a new set for me next week. Dolf's workshop is only about 40km from my place, so he will replace them directly. I talked to Enrico about the Häussel option and he told me that you didn't like them that much ?

for my tastes, I prefer the dolfs, they sounded more natural. i can see how some would prefer the haussels as they were a little more present and even, but the dolfs seem more musical and dynamic, and organic. My replacement set are much quieter, and Enricos customer service has been way above and beyond, to get the problem resolved. I'm looking at a set of Single Coil Dolfs for the next W&T superbass ;)

I'm curious if the new 1RU pumas sound similar or different from the old ones, as the power section is probably a different class. I'm definitely curious. I've been trying to contact Tecamp to submit a rig to review for BMM, but have never gotten a reply from them.

Tecamp uses a bang&olufsen power section for their new amps as far as i know. I checked the new Puma at the Messe in Frankfurt this year and i had the feeling that it is a little bit less deep in the low end, other than that it did sound like my old Puma.

Got my bass back from Norio Imai yesterday (I had a week off, it didn't take 2 weeks to fix ;) ) and it is absolutely stunning. It sounds better than I would have hoped, and is an absolute dream to play. It is an unbelievable instrument! So versatile, and practically plays itself. I'll get some pics up shortly, though this may be one of the most seen W&T's around anyway ;)

Lets just say its an interesting variation on a chronos 6, 33", 28 frets, bolt on, and some other cool unique features :D

I'll post some progress pics as things get firmed up.

Jim, I am very happy for the outcome - as I told you in the first place, it was nothing bad, just the bass getting uncomfortable for being unused.

And Schnatz, I had a chat with Dolf yesterday, he sounded genuinely puzzled for the recent setbacks we had with his pickups, and seemed to have nailed the causes. We are very eager to prove that now...

Hey Alex, yes, I have got it installed and it works great. Best of both worlds I think. I would love to see this be the standard for SP2's.

Thanks for your kind words Enrico, that means alot to me. I have yet to find another bass that fits in my hands as well, plays as easily, and sounds as good :)

wish I knew more about hard cases... Some of the gig bags out there offer a lot of protection and structure, like the Reunion Blues Continental, Protec Contego, or the Incase bags. Not a hard case, but a nice happy medium between portable and secure
