Funny, it's the first time I noticed that! I figure there's a few reality design mods to do before this cartoon bass gets built.

Conceptually I like maple also (more "woody" looking), but visually I'm more drawn to a rosewood board (less distractive to the body). One of each?

Normally I am a rosewood fretboard guy (simply based on the look of Rosewood) but in this case I prefer the maple.

Also, have you considered increasing the size of the head ever so slightly to try and make the bridge fall between the eyes vice covering portions of them?

Yes, I think it's possible (still in the conceptual stages) - haven't laid out an optimal size/scale yet.

If you gently slope it back like a tummy tuck I think you will be fine. I say do it, great concept, I prefer the rosewood neck.

Thanks - I think that is possible also, I mean - it's not going to be razor sharp or anything ;)

Looks like it's "neck & neck" regarding maple/rosewood! :D

Some updates; chrome knobs, sparkle look (cool Andrew!), and brought the feathers into better position. The longest one in this illustration is less of a 'horn' than an extension of the body, close to touching but not connected (bolt-on neck). As long as the strap button hits close to the 12th fret it should balance well. Plenty of neck-pocket connection as well - could do an inset 6-bolt (no plate) connection. Next step is scaling it up and making a 3D mock-up to test it out physically.

This is coming out very cool. It looks like the bridge and pickup locations have been better placed on the graphic as well as the feathers.

Yet another "pissed-pecker" (poor Woody) - this one on a HONDA Racing (motorcycle) ball-cap. No cigar, but he seems to be smokin' mad - gggrrrrrr!!!
