It's a shame people have been trying to recapture that day and/or cash in on it ever since.

There's some good acts on there, a lot better than some festival lineups I've heard of...but admittedly mostly on day one.

Santana, Robert Plant, Raconteurs, John Fogerty, Nathaniel Rateliff?

Heh, Plant on Friday and Greta Vaneppelin on Saturday. If I were Plant, there's no way that I could:
- sit in with them without being at least a little bit of a dick
- say no to an invite without being at least a little bit of a dick

Because Woodstock was a rock and folk festival with live musicians. They should stay true to their roots. There are plenty of other festivals where people can see hip-hop if they want.

Woodstock wasn’t an oldies review back in 69 either, so I was wondering the same thing. Michael Lang is no dummy and actually wants to sell tickets. Wanna see the Doobie Brothers? Catch them at the county fair.

It was a music festival. The original Aquarian Exposition was never marketed or presented solely as a rock festival. It was three days of peace, love and music.
