Worst music videos ever

From time to time I cross path with awesome bands that happen to have some music videos that make me wonder... Why? Why would you do something so cheap?

I know producing a music video is neither cheap neither easy, and most bands just don't care about them, and that is perfectly fine but, if you have to do it, do it right! It's so easy to simply do a "live like" video...

And when talking about bad videos, the first one that comes to mind is Dio's Holy Diver but, you know what? The acting is terrible and also the customs and "effects" but you can tell they tried. I mean, yes, it's really bad, but it's lights years from stuff like this...



Man, I love Rush, but... ***? The 80's made a lot of demage, I can even understand the kimonos from the 70's but the flying Geddy Lee is hard to swallow.

So I wonder, can it get worst than that? Is there any video (from a relatevely big artist) worst than that one?

PS: I posted this in miscellaneous, but I wasn't sure it was the right place, apologies it it is not

And I actually like this period of Rush... and this song.

You know, after watching the Rush video, and recalling Geddy "playing bass" through ovens on stage, and generally thumbing their noses at the whole conventional rock star bit.... (takes a breath).... I gotta wonder if they KNEW they were making a horrible video. In other words, they probably thumbed their noses at the whole high production video.... thing. It wouldn't surprise me. Those guys aren't dumb.

I think so too, it's a hard one to beat. And I also like the song, the era, not so much

Heavy metal gave us some of the top onthis category, stuff like: Rainbow in the Dark, Breaking the law, Turbo lover...

They both just seem like typical 80’s videos to me... both the charm and retrospective horror of so many videos from that time frame was technology was advancing so quickly, that many videos you see seem like the director was told of a new video editing technique, and that was the video. To hell w/ theme or storyline, we’re going to make an entire video just exploiting this new “trick”. That’s the Rush video in a nutshell...
Plus the music video was a new platform, so there was a lot of experimenting w/ what could be done effects wise, but also story wise, combining different video sources, etc... it was a brand new frontier, so there was a lot of car crashes along w/ a lot of groundbreaking videos.

I find the innocence in most of them charming & awesome...
