Would a hoppus pickguard fit a standard jazz?

So i have a MIM jazz bass that i've modified to have a P pickup at the neck. I've been contemplating having a one-piece pickguard so that it differs somewhat from my other jazz and my MP jaguar. Originally i was thinking of just cutting myself a template but i assume i wouldnt do a great job. And then i remembered the older mark hoppus basses have this exact layout.

Does anyone think that the pickguard would fit? I understand the screw holes wont line up and that i may have to make the pickup rout bigger. And thats all fine. My only concern is the neck pocket fitting and that the new pickguard covers up the control cavity adequately. I assume because theyre both MIM basses, the bodies should be fairly similar.. but I could be completely wrong.

Here is the bass in question (excuse the old, bad quality photo)

Wish I had some names to give you but there are custom pickguard places that will work from tracings of your existing pickguard. Tape your control plate securely to the pickguard while both are on the bass, remove the taped together assembly and then trace around the whole thing. I assume that you also trace the screw holes and of course the pickup cutout. You can get exactly what you want that way. Hopefully now that I have said this someone will chime in with the names of some dependable custom suppliers. Or you can do a web search and pick one that looks good.

That is a very fine looking bass you have, btw. I'm not sure I would change it either but a custom pickguard should fix you up and you can always go back....
