Hi all
I'm playing in a blues band that runs the gamut from moderately quiet swing to pretty loud hard Chicago. The problem I have is that my bass sounds best when the volume on the pups are turned all the way up. Even 1/16 of a turn will significantly effect the tone. I prefer a light to moderate plucking touch.
My question is if I were to add a volume pedal and set my amp for the loudest I need to be would I have enough control to effectively control my volume or does the volume drop off too rapidly to be effective? I've only seen one bassist use a volume pedal.
My other thought is to add either a overdrive or power booster pedal for those loud songs.
Any suggestions or feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks
