Would my amp be ok for small gigs?

Hi guys, I've been with a band for about 2 months and we're starting to write our own stuff with a view to gigging in around 6-8 months or so, obivously starting off in small pubs/clubs etc and working our way up from there. Having never been in a band (or gigged for that matter) before I'm questioning whether my amp will be up to the job.
I've got a Laney RBW300 combo which is 165w which can be tilted back and doubled as a monitor on stage... it's got great sound and I love it... but would it be suitable for small gigs? Personally I've never turned it up past 3 on the volume and even at that neighbours have been banging on the walls for me to turn it down! lol!

It's a good thing, it all depends on what venues you are playing? I managed to gig most places with a Vox T-60 (only 60 watts) but if we was only using a backline then I'd have to crank it up to the max. 135 watts should be find though.
As a local what venues are you looking into playing as I've played many within staffordshire and the midlands.

well mainly local pubs.. for example you've got the Forester (used to be the firkin) and the grapes in stafford.. LA rock in cannock.. that kind of thing..

I've played the LA a few times, with venues like that you could probably play with a 30 watt amp as you always go through the PA. Can't see any problems there.

It might be enough. It really will depend on how loud your drummer and guitarist are. For me personally, I'd want something larger (but most of the drummers I've played with are loud).
