Would there be much difference between these rigs ?

I currently have an Epifani T210 (not UL) used with a GK1001 RBIII. I use the cab vertically with the speakers on top of each other, not side by side.

Every now and then on a gig I could use a little more volume, a little more air being pushed.

The question is, would an Epi 310UL be any louder than a 210 non-UL ? I know some think the UL loose a little low end vs. the traditional cabs, so would they be pretty much equal ?

I'm also thinking of pairing the 310 with a Thunderfunk. Power wise, the GK is not lacking. Any thoughts on the Thunderfunk as compared to a GK1001 ?

I understand what you're saying, but some think the UL actually have a little less low end than traditional cabs/speakers. That's why I thought they might be somewhat similar, as the 210 is not UL.

I owned both those cabs. I am one who greatly prefers the tighter, punchier low end of the UL's versus the T's and NYC's. IME, an extended, large low end combined with a small cab results in not much sound out in the audience.

That being said, the 310UL definitely has more actual low end and will produce more volume and punch on the gig. It is also a great match for the Thunderfunk, and it will weigh A LOT less than the T-210... bonus, bonus, and bonus!!!

+1...I haven't used the T/NYC Epi cabs on a gig, but I've compared them to my 310UL in a music store setting (specifically the T-310 vs. the 310-UL) I wouldn't say that the T has more low end, I'd say that it has a wider low end. Its a bit more loose in the booty compared to the 310UL which has a very tight and punchy low end. So it really just depends on the type of low end you prefer. Either way, I'm sure that the 310UL will have more bottom than the T-210.
