Would this actually work...?

I recently bought a Ashdown 180w 15in combo and i love it but it does seem a little underpowered at bigger gigs. Im thinking about getting an Ashdown cab for it, but as you can probably tell, i dont really know what im doing!

Can someone tell me if a cab would work with the combo?

I just looked real quick and the only 180 watts 1x15 combo I saw was the Electric Blue 15-180. If that's the one you have then it should work as it has an extension speaker out.

Just got the same exact amp and I'm in the same exact position as you! I'm thinking about getting a 2x10 cab, I'm not sure if the amp is powerful enough to run both the 1x15 and 2x10, but by getting another cab you'll get the very most out of the amp (or so I've been told). That being said you need an 8 ohm cab I think, tell me what you decide to do!

I found this info online: "...while the extension speaker output can be used to connect an additional cabinet for use in larger venues." So yes, you certainly can add a cab and get more volume / fullness / coverage.

Unfortunately, no specific info on wattage / ohms was provided (I looked at the manual online and at some retailer's specs). Taking a guess, I would imagine that the combo normally puts out 180 watts at 8 ohms, and that hooking up an extension cab would get it to put out somewhere about 250 watts at 4 ohms. BUT that is a guess and you'd really want to figure it out before you get an additional cab.
