I'm borrowing a friends bass rig right now because I can't afford my own. I do have an old 500 Watt power amp though. What would I need to be able to use the power amp as a bass head? SOme kind of mixer? Can this even be done? COUld save me alot of money if I could make it work. All I would need is cabinets instead of the whole rig. Thanks

You need a pre-amp to make it work... Not saying you'll like the sound, but it'll get you started... Try this as a cheap "entry level" pre:

As you train your ear (and eye) for what you want for your sound, you can adjust or replace as most of us have done! Its a journey to be enjoyed!
