I'm considering buying a used 1001rb head from a guy but this is what he has to say about the condition of the head.
"Like I said, I used the amp once a week for 6 months at rehearsals. I never had a problem with it at practice. I only had problems with it at home (even though I was using the same cab at rehearsal). Sometimes there will be no sound when you turn it on. Mute the strings and slap them (or tap the pickups) and the amp will start working. That only happened once every few weeks for me. Just enough time would pass for me to think it had fixed itself and then I'd turn it on and it wouldn't work until I went through the process described. It has never cut out once it's on and working, and I have never failed to get it working on any occasion I used it."
The amp is only 150 dollars, but I don't want to buy something that will be dead in a week.
