That looks like it was originally dyed (most ebony is dyed, as is a lot of rosewood as well), and the string has worn through the dye in that area. Could be play wear, could be from how it's transported in its bag, or a bit of both.I have an old M-1 that has a blond streak in the fingerboard, I like it. Nope, I had cleaned up the neck. It is Rosewood and the streak was there, just not as clear.
