Wounded Paw - Attack Goat Bass Fuzz

Discussion in 'Effects [BG]' started by Sean S, Mar 5, 2008.

  1. Here's a little something from north of the border; a bass-centric fuzz. This guy posts on a Canadian Indie board that I'm on.

Just click the picture of the pedal for more info. Those of you in Toronto, it's available at Paul's Boutique.

According to the description there's a hint of octave up... which leads me to believe this may be a Brassmaster clone.

One of the greatest albums in HISTORY, man...

  5. actually the octave up comes from something very similar to the ancient Univox Super-Fuzz although the principle is the same.

So is this pedal similar/clone to the Univox because if it is........ :D

  7. It uses some of the design of the super-fuzz, particularly the octave doubling section, but I wouldn't call it a clone.
Why, is that good or bad?

Isn't the univox the fuzz that MCA uses on Sabotage? That is tasty...

  10. Could be, I'm not sure. Sounds similar to me.
One major difference with the Attack Goat is the addition of a blend control to keep the low end solid and tight.

  11. WP, I didn't realize you've been on TB longer than I have...

  12. Hey WP, I see you built a few from my my web site, too! :bassist:

  13. yep, I built a few of your things. The Screamin Meanie is tons of fun with bass. Wavy Gravy is pretty cool too. Did you listen to that sound sample with the optical theremin going into it?

Hmmm 100$ is pretty cheap...I'd like to hear some soundclips. I'm contemplating buying one for sure.

Attack Goat? That has to be one of the most awesome pedal names ever. I'm intrigued.

    Testify!

  17. Does anyone know if Paul's Boutique keeps them regularly stocked?

I'll be in T.O. next week and am interested in test driving one.
