Wow, 2nd thread - Extended cab suggestions

I'm getting the hang of this finally.

Head: SVT 4 PRO
Cab: Epi PS410 (4 ohm)
Music type: Rock. The hard stuff (i.e. 80's)

Any suggestions for an extended cab? Can't really bust this thing out at home with the kids, but for gigs and practice I like to turn up the damn volume. I would think another 410 would be too much. Perhaps a 4 ohm 210?

If you want a 2x10 cab then go for an 8ohm version because else you will not have even power distribution between the 6 10's (when you run them parallel, can the Ampeg handle a 2ohm load?).

The 4 PRO is rated to handle 2 ohm loads. I had a choice to choose between this head and the 8 PRO and opted for the the 4.

What you could do with the SVT 4 Pro is Bi-amp.

Run the 4 Pro full range into the 410 and get a Cab/sub just for the low frequencies.

maybe an 18" sub?

I envision keeping this amp for awhile and not adding another one. I do plan on getting another cab but I'm torn between a 210 or an additional 410. Yes, 4 ohms.

Keep in mind that you when you choose a 210 it's 8ohms and when you choose a 410 it's 4ohms. Because only then you'll have even power distribution between the 10's.

I have the same cabinet the PS410 (4 ohm), and I’m adding an 8 ohm 210, because it will give me modular 610 setup. If I have a small gig I can use the 210, if I have a mid size gig, just the 410, and if I need to bring the pain both. IMHO unless you are never going to do a small gig get the 8 ohm 210.
