Being new here I have read a lot about a lot.
One thing of interest was threads about hum.....I had a bit of hum but not much.
In the last week er so it became pretty bad, only stopping w/ hands on the strings, and it seemed to pop and crack as I fretted while playing.
On a hunch, whim, out of desperation after trying another bass which was very quiet, I decided to shield the cavities.
30 min. and 10 cents of aluminum foil and, like I said......
WOW!
Extremely quite now.....no hum , buzz or anything.
It even sounds better tone wise, and there is more of a difference heard when I adjust the tone knob.
WOW!
