Really musical sounding — full, rich, tubey, and punchy. The boost only EQ circuit is organic and highly interactive. There is a plethora of tones inside and very musical across the entire range of EQ.
The secret sauce is the combination of the Sensitivity dial and Deep switch. The Sensitivity dial controls the input signal which allows you to hit the tube harder for more color. The Deep switch ads punch. Not mud or wooly tone — something perfect to cut through the mix in a warm, organic, yet growly way.
This is a full sounding preamp — never really dirty per se. Organic and colorful. Really nice. Requires 9 volt power with center positive tip — power requirements make this very pedalboard friendly. Fits on a Pedaltrain Nano. IMHO, those considering a Noble might want to look at a Goliath. Not only can you dial it in to sound virtually identical to a Noble, you also have mid control plus the sweet Deep circuit.
