Wrapped my bass

So I decided to get my bass wrapped and being a bit of a Batman Fanboy especially The Killing Joke, there could only be one image for the wrap. The bass was originally a 1989 Ibanez SR800LE but had been modded with EMGX pups and a custom pick guard before I bought it.

The wrap is just the front of the bass and the back is still gloss black along with the headstock and neck.

I appreciate it might not be to everyone's taste but then life would be boring if we all liked the same thing. The wrap is also very easy to take off if I ever sold it.

Thanks, I'm glad I got it back today as I have had to take my new Ibanez SR1820 in for a warranty repair due to a crackling and noisy blend pot! I've only had it 2 months!

I didn’t wrap it as I’m not good at things like that. I’m amazed how they managed to get it all lined up. The company have wrapped the same image under the pickguard so I can take that one off if it gets marked and put a clear one on.

I would have taken the opportunity to lose the pickguard.
(assuming the route under there is tight enough)

Oh wait, it's a SR800, they didn't come with a pickguard.

So it’s a vinyl wrap and the company(Vinyl Revolution in the UK) can do any image or photo as long as the resolution is suitable to be enlarged. I supplied the image, stripped the bass and they fitted it. Cost £100. I don’t know what that would be in $ maybe 90-95??
I’m sure there must be similar companies in the US that do vinyl wrapping? I would imagine any company that wraps cars could do it??

I was going to get a custom paint job but it was £1000 as opposed to £100. The wrap will protect the original finish and can be removed easily at a later stage if I want to.

Looks excellent. I have a companion to it...

This was more of a DIY than the OP's - in the sense that I applied it myself. The edges are a bit rough, but it "reads" fine from the crowd.

As luck had it, Adam Hughes (the artist - AH!) visited our local comic shop a few months after I did it...
