I was talking about how you explained the semitones, can't believe I didnt think of it as the 6th fret lol.
And also the jarred time, but it's pretty obvious if you listen to breakdowns.
And every time I see jarred I think of my name, Jared. lol.

Tune down to A, and then opens in some tripplet rhythm and some non tripplet and just a bend on the first or 3rd fret of the low A string, haha, that being said, my current band has a few br00tal breakdowns.
But just come up with a slowish rhythm, and then add tripplets and change it up a bit, rinse and repeat.

You might want to throw in some dissonance to a part of it.
Example: Say you're in a drop d tuning...instead of palm muting an open D power chord...put your finger on the first fret with the A and higher D still open. so the chord is D#,A,D.
It puts a great spin on things and sounds really heavy.

Would it kill anyone to be original....I see alot of posts about "KEEPING IT SIMPLE" and just bending a few "TRITONES" ....I don't know how many metal, hardcore, screamo, bands we've shared the stage with....but I do know that EVERY single one of them "KEEPS IT SIMPLE" playing the above listed "ONE NOTE" picked weird and sluggish....My band has never played a breakdown that involved only one note.....in fact weve even played a riff that coulda been another song as a breakdown and it sounds just as good as or better than playin' a single note as a breakdown.....I'm not Bi***in' just saying try something new....what could it hurt?
