Most frets are saveable, get it checked out. If the neck is still adjustable it may just need a level and crown.

That is great stuff. It won't help this pot. though. It spins indefinitely in both directions.
are you sure the entire pot isn't just loose in the socket?
or does the shaft spin indefinitely even when you're holding the body of the pot?

- I teach lessons and perform live music in and around San Diego CA. Sometimes I even make money doing it!
Soldering those 2 wires together did the trick.
There was also another wire disconnected from the plug jack.
Hearing it play through my amp. has given me motivation to give it a chance instead of hucking it into the woods.

Who knows? Maybe this bass will end up being my "main squeeze", even though I bought it as a beater.
Now to look into that neck a little more closely...
